There is a psalm for most all human emotions and plights. Psalm 27 addresses overcoming fear; Psalm 37, overcoming worry; and Psalm 40, speaks to overcoming depression. All three through God.  

The Psalms offer us amazing places or states for meditation and prayer. We could even call them sacred paths to God, and between God and us, as established by God. Today we will focus on Psalm 23, the most familiar and popular of all 150 Psalms.

Today is a fifth in a series on how to pray. I will give you a few more prayer exercises, which assist to feel the presence of God to a greater extent. We begin with another breathing prayer, called the “God in My Breath” prayer.

The Scriptures are meant to be more than merely read. They are also meant to be prayed. The Scriptures are more than merely literature, to be read like other literary works; the Scriptures are meant to penetrate into the heart and mind with words of life, faith, wisdom, truth, healing and assurance.

Prayer is communication with God in all its forms. Deeper prayer, prayer of the heart, meditation and contemplation, move toward communion, co-union with God.
