How You can be both distant and near
At seemingly the same time and place
Will forever elude me.
How I can so decisively sense You
But not with any of my normal senses
Abides like You beyond my grasp.
Without mutual space continuously between us,
Your unseen, immeasurable expanse,
Not of this time-space continuum,
I could not know You as You,
While still remaining as me,
An awed, appreciative apprehender.
If I should dissolve into You
Or You disappear into me,
There would be no lasting Us,
No Spirit Field of enduring relationship,
No one to know, love and celebrate You,
No one whose consciousness is filled with You,
Only You, ever You –
Yet whose consciousness nevertheless continues
Aided but unabated by You.
Without endless relationship,
Before, during and after this creation,
There would be no Trinity,
No Love, no joyous God-Life,
And all which attends to It.
The truth is, there never was nor will be
A time and space without the Lover
And the Beloved and the Love;
Without Love’s dazzling distance and nearness
Dancing between God and God as God.
